If everyone knew what ostriches offer mankind, ostrich breeding would become every individual’s aim. This knowledge sums up the reason behind our endeavor to establish this only ostrich farm in the Middle East.
In 1995, the farm was established in Barbash, Tyre Area, then moved to Majdal Salam Village, Bint Jbeil district, South Lebanon. It produces a wide range of products sold under the brand name “Rala” that stands for the Ostrich Offspring.
Our Ostrich-based products include:
- Healthy ostrich meat containing high amount of Omega-3.
- Ostrich eggs, each containing around 176 grams of Protein and equivalent to 30 Chicken Eggs.
- Egg shells, used for decorative purposes, engraving, and the like.
- A variety of leather products derived from Ostrich skin including purses, shoes and valuable accessories.
- Feathers, used as pillow fillers or for decorative purposes
- Our main product, Rala Oil, contains a high amount of omega 3, 6 and 9, making it a treatment for joint aches and skin diseases such as fungi, eczema, psoriasis, hemorrhoids, and skin and hair problems. From such extracted oil, we developed products a line of soap, shampoo and conditioner products that can easily penetrate into hair bulbs and enhance the quality of scalp, hair and skin.
- Even Ostrich Bones are used to produce handles for knives and cooking pots.
- Ostrich nails, sought for diamonds polishing
- Ostrich eyelashes, used in the production of mascara.
Ostriches can live up to 100 years laying around 55 eggs per season and they are notable for being the heaviest living birds reaching around 200kg in weight. Ostrich farming is a hidden treasure.
