Description
Orange blossom water, also known as the essential oil of neroli, is produced by steam distillation of the blossoms of the bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium var. amara). It has a rich, floral scent with citrusy overtones.
Orange blossom water is a widely used ingredient in the Middle Eastern cuisine (especially used in Arabic sweets since it disperses very well in syrups and cake-like pastries), for perfumery and is also known to have many health benefits such as the following:
- hydrate, revive, purify, and soothe the skin
- tone, soften and firm the skin
- treat stress, depression, anxiety, and pain
- helps to lighten discolorations and dark spots that result from aging, hormonal imbalance and sun exposure since it is rich in Antioxidants and B Vitamins
