I picked up my first brush in 2016. I wanted an escape from my daily struggles and bounded reality. Watercolor had all the characteristics I needed at that time; it is a medium of spontaneity and freedom — something that was hard to achieve in real life. As years went by, I fell in love with the medium more and more, started painting more often as life in Lebanon became tougher and cumbersome. Art was the only way to stay sane in an insane world.

In my artwork, I try to portray different thoughts and feelings inspired from everyday life. I use the best quality of materials so that all my paintings last for many years without fading in color. 100% cotton paper and artist grade watercolors are the staples of my artwork. Each painting goes through different stages, from a primary sketch to layering and detailed work, until it reaches its final form.

I recently decided to share my paintings with other people, those who also have struggles and are unable to articulate them in words. I hope each of my paintings finds a suitable home and the owner looks at them and is reminded to be more courageous. I hope people look at my paintings and see that art succeeded where life failed.
